Please Vote For The Latest Community Superblock: 1080000
Hello Snode owners! It’s time to vote for the latest proposals!
There is a great responsibility for Service Node (Snode) owners to vote either “yes,” or “no,” on the proposals. It cannot be emphasised enough how much the community as well as the Blocknet team relies on Snodes to vote on project proposals to ensure continued funding for development of the Blocknet.
The proposals for superblock 1080000 can be viewed below or on the NEW FORUM forum here. Please note, proposals are being submitted individually so please make sure you scroll down and take your time to look over each proposal.
In the latest wallet voting is now much easier. Navigate to the proposal area:
Click the “Vote” button for a proposal you wish to vote on and choose “yes”, “no” or “abstain” to vote. (If voting for multiple nodes or a vps, check “Vote many”.)
If using an older wallet, follow the instructions on how to vote for each proposal below.
The latest Superblock details are below in alphabetical order:

Proposal Name: bizdev-1080000 Owner: Mastermind
Cost: 2500 BLOCK
Proposal: Business Development
August Business Development Summary
We have added specific business use cases to the pitch deck which I believe will help potential partners wrap their heads around practical use cases for the technology. August is a slow month generally in the corporate space as many people are on holiday. I am continuing to reach out to potential partners and hope to see more traction during the month of September.
Current pipeline:
Banking Sector:
-We received positive feedback from the client from the initial call we had back in June. The client invited us to a second call scheduled for July 30th to speak with their FX team to explore a possible use case.
-We had our second call with the client on July 30th with their FX team to discuss using Blocknet XRouter functionality. The client inquired about viewing a demonstration of the protocol and the Blocknet development team is working to provide. Expected to get back to the client by mid-September with a demonstration.
Consulting Sector:
-The client has been out on vacation and I will follow up in early September to continue the discussion.
-Based upon the feedback we received from the last call, it sounds like even at the technical implementation provider level there are uncertainties/unknowns on how they could specifically apply the technology; therefore, we have revised the pitch deck to include specific business case scenarios for utilizing XRouter.
Background/Previous Work:
My background is primarily in technology and banking. In the past, I ran my own technology consulting company and created custom designed software solutions for my clients. I have been involved in Bitcoin since 2011 and have followed this incredibly dynamic industry ever since.
I currently work as an investment banker covering large corporate clients. My primary responsibility is generating new ideas for clients that would be profitable for the bank (business development) with ancillary responsibilities typical of every investment banker (credit and lending, financial analysis, raising capital, M&A, etc).
Strategy:
Blocknet has a niche, the tech, and an opportunity to take the lead in the interoperability space- but it is abundantly clear that this message has not gotten to the right decision makers at the right companies.
My initial targets will be global financial institutions (Citi/JPM/BAML/HSBC/DB/MS/GS/Standard Chartered/RBC/UBS/Barclays/etc.) and global consulting firms (Bain/McKinsey/Accenture/Boston/Booz Allen/PwC/EY/Deloitte/KPMG).
The rationale behind this strategy is that the top financial institutions and consultants both have the largest companies in the world as their clientele. Their role is to understand their client’s strategy and to help them execute on that strategy, which means they usually have a pretty good insight into what their clients want and what they might need to 1) generate more revenue 2) save time or 3) cut costs.
I have many connections within these companies/sectors and feel confident that I will be able to ignite interest in the project and land our first partnership as a result of my efforts.
The amount requested for this Superblock is a retainer to begin spending time contributing to this project for the month of September.

Proposal Name: BlockchainConferences Owner: Mamaringo / Arlyn
Cost: 900$ each month (12 month period) total $10806
Proposal: Attend Blockchain Conferences
Proposal — Attend Blockchain Conferences
The Blocknet is fortunate to have one of the best speakers on decentralization, interoperability, and the interchain → ARLYN! Arlyn has just attended EthBerlin, and in addition to giving a presentation, he chaired a panel debate on the interchain, which was arranged to feature founders from Cosmos, Polkadot, POA, Keep, and of course the Blocknet.
Such events are opportunities to (a) build relationships with key people, and (b) to build a common understanding of the interchain that avoids centralization around one blockchain. © They cement the Blocknet’s standing alongside these big “interoperability” projects. They also can lead to (unplannable) things like this whiteboard session, which build relationships and strengthen Blocknet’s credibility amongst the brightest influencers in the space.
It is extremely difficult to give the Blocknet a prominent public presence against these much larger and better-funded projects. But when speaking and participating in these big events, Blocknet will get very high exposure, and to the right people.
I believe this is one of the better ways to let the voices of Blocknet be heard, and so this is a proposal to fund Arlyn’s attending and speaking at several conferences per year.
Arlyn does not want any money for the time he uses on this! He only would like his expenses for the trips covered, like flights, hotels, and attendance fees. In general, the flights will be the most costly thing, which makes everything predictable: flights: $800-$1000; accommodation: $120/night (3 or 4 nights for Europe, 5 or 6 for the US to get over jetlag).
My proposal is for Arlyn to attend these 6 blockchain events (which Arlyn has handpicked):
- IEEE ICBC (International Conference on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency) -
- Paper on interchain standards [submission date: 2 Dec 2019]
- ZCon2 — ZCash Foundation — proposed paper: zk proofs on the interchain
- Cryptovalley (June 2020) — paper: the interchain is the decentralized API ecosystem
- Web3 Summit — paper: XRouter: solving the Web 3 monetisation problem
- DevCon 4 (Sept 2020) — TBC (well-curated; top talent attends)
- EthBerlin 2020 — TBC (depends on theme)
Estimated cost: $10806
Since there is no hurry, to avoid putting pressure on the superblock system, I propose to fund this over 12 months. Monthly total: $900.05. In BLOCK at current price: 677.
To avoid causing any downward pressure on the price, the BLOCK will be liquidated gradually over several months. Block DX will be used exclusively, to add a little extra volume to the DEX.
Arlyn will receive the funds, not me.
If there are excess funds, Arlyn will put them in a public address and keep them for later events. If the price of BLOCK goes lower, then we will have opportunity to top up the funds with more BLOCK, to enable him to attend all the conferences.
Really hope the service nodes will back up my proposal and vote yes! Together we stand stronger!

Proposal Name: Chain-upgrades Owner: Core
Cost: 10 BLOCK
Proposal: Chain Upgrades
Overview:
For the upcoming migration to Bitcoin’s v18 basechain, there are some additional changes that need to be made:
- Service Node registration will require an address with 5k BLOCK rather than a single 5k BLOCK input. This change is needed to allow Service Node collateral to be staked.
- Service Node voting needs to be moved on-chain to prevent abuse and excessive network spam. Since voting is moved on-chain, voting will incur a normal transaction fee.
- In the current system there is also what’s call a “final budget”, where a submission is manually made 2880 blocks prior to the Superblock for finalization. This final budget system is being removed.
- Proposal submissions will end 2880 blocks prior to the Superblock to prevent last-minute proposals being submitted. Voting will also end 60 block prior to the Superblock.
- For a proposal to pass, 60% of all votes on the proposal must be “yes” and the number of “yes” votes must be at least 25% the total number of Service Nodes participating in voting.
- Transaction fees will be paid out to stakers instead of being burnt to further incentivize staking.
Summary of changes:
- Snode collateral requires 5k address instead of 5k input
- On-chain voting
- Voting fee (normal tx fee)
- Proposal submission ends 2880 blocks prior to Superblock
- Voting ends 60 blocks prior to Superblock
- Remove final budget
- Proposal passing criteria (see above)
- Transaction fees will be paid out instead of being burnt

Proposal Name: CoinatomyExchange Owner: Coinatomy
Cost: 10,000 BLOCK (over 4 months)
Proposal: CoinatomyExchange
Coinatomy is a UK registered crypto business currently specialised in Masternodes…
My Proposal:
Open a centralized exchange that sends all its transactions to the BLOCK DX.
Our transaction fees will be the same as the taker fee: currently 0.015BLOCK
All orders placed on the exchange will be sent to the DX…
This should SUPPLY volume to DX and DEMAND a lot of BLOCK for transactions fees…
I am currently in the early stages of development but I’ve just spent $9500 for programmers, $5000 on equipment + costs…
When all is running smoothly we will spend around $50,000 for marketing…
The funding I am asking for, will secure the first 500,000 transactions…
After that… We will be forced to buy from exchanges…
I hope to bring you great volume CHECK OUT MY CURRENT WEBSITE:www.coinatomy.com/p/proposa

Previous Work:
- created Twitter accounts for Block DX 1 and XRouter (an account for XCloud was also created but on hold for the time being)
- created the banner graphics for the Twitter accounts
- please note that the team has admin access to these accounts with tweet-deck, however, because of their heavy workloads and focus on other priorities they have been unable to contribute to the tweeting. In this way, I believe that my tweeting is helping to increase Blocknet’s social media presence without taking away from the teams focus on other things.
- at the time of writing (August 18th) there are over 250 tweets and more than 1 million impressions across the twitter accounts:

Proposal: Core Contributions
Previous Work:
I began contributing in August 2017 when I saw there were areas the project could use help in. The first thing I worked on was an informational website (blocknetprotocol.com) since informational resources we lacking. This led to submitting my first Superblock proposal that next month for further contribution.
Since then I have been responsible for multiple projects and tasks, as well have assisted in others. Some of these items are as follows:
- API documentation (https://api.blocknet.co/)
- New configurations file format: https://github.com/blocknetdx/blockchain-configuration-files
- Compose documentation (https://docs.blocknet.co)
- Compose content
- Compose specifications
- Wallet QA (MacOS)
- Block DX QA (MacOS)

Overview:
As a core contributor of Blocknet, I take part in many daily tasks that help keep the project running smoothly, as well as larger tasks that move Blocknet forward. Putting in an average 60 hours a week, I partake in projects that build Blocknet’s foundation and assist in other projects in order to help meet objectives. This proposal is for compensation to allow me to continue contributing to Blocknet for the next upcoming Superblock period.
I have a technical background with a degree in mechanical engineering, prior development experience, and have spent a few years a a few early stage startups (pre and post seed round). This experience helps in various aspects of the project including working in a fast-paced environment, wearing multiple ‘hats’, pivoting priorities and tasks, understanding the project technicals and vision, communicating the different components, conveying concepts into diagrams and text, and budgeting and financials.
Attention to detail is another useful trait. When reviewing interface UI and user experience, performing QA, writing specifications and documents, and communicating concepts, this attention to detail is important as it’s typically the intricacies that make a difference.
In addition to daily tasks, the following list are main items I plan to be working on in the following Superblock period. Keep in mind that some of these may not be completed this upcoming Superblock period, may be pushed back due to a change in priority, or may be ongoing long term items.
- Manage Block DX tasks (it’s planned to begin work on market and limit orders this month)
- Continued documentation
- Continued wallet and Block DX tutorials
- Continued website development
The amount requested for this Superblock is a retainer to continue contributing to this project.
Note: This amount is noticeably less as I will be on vacation from Sept 4th-14th

Proposal: Core Development
August recap
In August we joined a consortium of Proof-of-Stake (PoS) developers and projects to improve the PoS consensus algorithm that we inherited from PIVX and Peercoin. I succeeded in developing an upgrade to the PoS protocol and it has passed our mainnet tests. There is a planned mandatory wallet release that will upgrade Blocknet’s network with this more resilient PoS implementation. It will prevent some sophisticated staking attacks and improve the overall security of the consensus algorithm. A significant amount of my time this month was invested in developing this PoS upgrade, it can be reviewed here: https://github.com/blocknetdx/blocknet/commit/5a997788ed942eefac8c4816022e8b3e3b0a8dce 1
Additionally, in August I continued the development of Blocknet’s new chain and implemented the staking upgrade above, implemented the service node system, as well as implemented much of the new governance system that will be responsible for providing BLOCK hodlers the ability to vote on initiatives and govern the project. The development of the on-chain Governance system can be reviewed here: https://github.com/blocknetdx/bitcoin/commits/governance and new chain general development https://github.com/blocknetdx/bitcoin/commits/blocknet. Testnet builds can be reviewed here: https://gitlab.com/blocknetdx/bitcoin/pipelines/
September Development Overview
I am continuing to develop Blocknet’s new chain (based on Bitcoin Core’s v18 release). The goal for September is to integrate all the remaining Blocknet products (XBridge, XRouter, and XCloud) into the new chain. Blocknet’s new chain will allow us to support enterprise customers and a reliable XRouter 1.0 release. September will likely be the most important month of development at Blocknet of the year, as we integrate all our products into the new blockchain.
Core Development task summary:
- New basechain implementation (COMPLETE)
- PoS upgrade (COMPLETE)
- Service Node system (COMPLETE)
- Governance system (COMPLETE)
- XBridge, XRouter, XCloud integration (in progress)
Other tasks
- Maintenance and bug fixing on existing products (XBridge, XRouter, XCloud, Block DX)
Upcoming XRouter tasks:
- Nginx support
- Blocknet Name Service
- URL plugin type
- XRouter c++ library
- XRouter golang library

- Collaboration and communication with current partners, delegates and other teams we work with.
- Dealing with any necessary discussions and negotiations undertaken with any other potential partners and third-parties who would like to work with us. EG: Exchanges, dev teams and any other interested parties.
- Communicating closely with content creators to arrange the creation of works (videos, podcasts, articles), focused on promoting Blocknet to the masses.
- Coin Announcements lifecycle: from initial integration/QA to community/partner outreach and coordination of announcements/support. Creating ANN media.
- Helping to support and promote the use of Block DX to communities that are integrated in to our protocol, both old and new. Using raffles, airdrops, tips (etc) as a way to enable people to try the DX using these small portions of BLOCK as trade-fees.

For more detailed instructions see: http://blocknetdx.forumotion.com/t6-blocknet-proposal-introduction-guide
- An introduction to Superblocks and a guide to submitting and voting for proposals, can be found here.
- A proposal category was created in the Blocknet Discord for focused and specific discussion of proposals and ideas. Within this category, there is a channel called #anon-snode-feedback for Service Node owners to provide anonymous feedback on proposals.
- Votes in favor must be greater than votes against by at least 10% of the total number of Service Nodes.
- The proposals that pass are sorted in a descending order list by the sum of yes votes minus no votes. If multiple proposals have an equal sum of yes votes minus no votes, those are sorted randomly. If there are not enough funds remaining in the Superblock for a proposal to be paid out, it is skipped (not paid out), and the next proposal in the list is checked.
- Multi-month proposals are voted on each month and are treated in the same manner as normal proposals in the ordered list.
- There is also something called a ‘final budget,’ which needs to be submitted between 2880 blocks and 28 blocks before the Superblock. By default, Service Nodes automatically vote yes on final budgets. Moving forward, proposal voting will end 2880 blocks before the Superblock since the final budget locks in the proposal vote counts.
- An introduction to Superblocks and a guide to voting can be found here.
- In addition, we have created a separate proposal notification email alert reminder that snode owners can sign up for here so they do not forget to vote. (This email is separate to the Word on the BLOCK newsletter email).
PLEASE VOTE ASAP. MANY THANKS!
