Please Vote For The Latest Community Superblock
Hello Snode owners! It’s time to vote for the latest proposals!
There is a great responsibility for Service Node (Snode) owners to vote either “yes,” or “no,” on the proposals. It cannot be emphasised enough how much the community as well as the Blocknet team relies on Snodes to vote on project proposals to ensure continued funding for development of the Blocknet.
The proposals for superblock 864000 can be viewed below or on the forum here. Voting will close at Block 861120, but your node must remain active until block 864000 for your vote to count. Please note, proposals are being submitted individually so please make sure you scroll down and take your time to look over each proposal.
In the latest wallet voting is now much easier. Navigate to the proposal area:
Click the “Vote” button for a proposal you wish to vote on and choose “yes”, “no” or “abstain” to vote. (If voting for multiple nodes or a vps, check “Vote many”.)
If using an older wallet, follow the instructions on how to vote for each proposal below.
The latest Superblock details are below in alphabetical order:
Superblock 864000
Proposal: atc-DEV-sb864000 (Dan)
Proposal: atc-DEV-sb864000
Summary:
Various supporting day-to-day dev tasks, maintaining the build system (gitian), and automation implementations (CI/CD pipelines) for various blocknet projects leveraging aws. The cost includes infrastructure costs, maintenance and additional development.
Infra:
- Seed Nodes
- s3 buckets
- dxapi
- blocknet forum
- tipbot
CICD:
- Gitian
- Docker
- API Site
- Doc Site
- block dx configurations to s3
As part of the docker effort in march, I’ve identified an automation approach to having the dockerfiles auto-generated,pushed to docker hub which is triggered by updates to the latest config manifest. Proof of Concept scripts where created for each leg of the process. The objective would be to formalize those scripts into a final solution, making docker updates fully automated.
The API and DOC sites will also be fully automated based off github push’s, streamlining the process for updating.
Blocknets new forum is deployed, additional work is required to split off the docker image into an HA deployment on aws.

Proposal: BLOCK1000 Funds Reallocation (Fattox / Cryptoved)
Proposal: Reallocate-864000
Summary:
This is a proposal to reallocate the funds given to @cryptoved for use as BLOCK1000 airdrops. The funds were originally sent to, and are currenty held, in the following address: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/block/address.dws?Bni5YR7Msz3VCHhGFwY65AmiKZ1rsdk5Ej.htm
This proposal is for the entire balance of those remaining funds, less any staking rewards, to be returned to the Marketing portion of the Blocknet Community Funds, the address of which is BgSDpy7F7PuBZpG4PQfryX9m94NNcmjWAX and can be seen here:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/block/address.dws?BgSDpy7F7PuBZpG4PQfryX9m94NNcmjWAX.htm
The total to be returned amounts to: 993.35 BLOCK
The reason for this request is that these funds are currently left dormant, following the removal of @cryptoved from his former Marketing role and the termination of the BLOCK1000 intiative that was under him. We believe that these funds could be used for other Marketing initiatives, primarly for the purpose of airdrops to other communities, which was their original intended use case. Airdrops have already commenced via our tipbot, raffles and other such handouts in our server and others.
The funds are requested to be moved directly to the Marketing fund pool (above) by @cryptoved, should this proposal pass.
Cost Assessment: Total: 10 BLOCK (Submisssion Feee Only)

Proposal: Core Development Proposal (Michael)
Proposal: michael-dev-apr
Summary:
March recap:
Core development in March has been focused on the XRouter Beta and fixing critical bugs in the core codebase (including fixing the chainstate issues). XRouter progress can be seen here: https://github.com/BlocknetDX/blocknet/commits/fix-xrouter. The planned release for XRouter is very soon, targeting end of the month.
April plan (and coming months):
Blocknet desperately needs a new base blockchain and we’re planning on forking the latest v18 Bitcoin codebase to put us in line with the best security, network protocol optimizations, and optimized code. We plan on adding Service nodes and staking to the v18 Bitcoin codebase.
Reasons for new base chain:
- Upstream security updates and optimizations (on the current chain we’re unable to efficiently incorporate upstream changes from PIVX/Dash)
- Security and stability, Bitcoin has a much more resilient and tested codebase
- Scalability, we need an overhaul of our RPC and networking code to support mass adoption of XBridge and XRouter
- Developer network, Bitcoin has a strong and active develper network
This is a multi-month effort, and will put Blocknet’s base chain in line with the BTC standard. The dev team is planning the following:
- Forking v18 Bitcoin
- Implementing On-Chain Governance (proposal voting will be recorded directly on-chain)
- Moving everyone to Staking rewards
+ Service Nodes are not going away, but they will be exclusive to powering DX/XBridge and XRouter
+ Service Nodes will be able to stake and can earn additional fees through XBridge and XRouter
+ No more long wait periods to activate service nodes (looking at 2–3 network confirmations for snode inputs)
+ You can signal multiple staking inputs to validate your node (no longer need a single 5k input)
Ongoing Tasks
- XRouter Beta development
- Implement new base blockchain
Other tasks
- Improved handling of pending orders affected by a Blocknet client is shutdown and restart
- Refundable trade fees (for failed orders)
- Wallet Redesign UI fixes & improvements
- Development discussions

Proposal: Hanniabu-864000 (Hanni)
Proposal: hanniabu-864000
Summary:
Proposal
As a core contributor of Blocknet, I take part in many daily tasks that help keep the project running smoothly, as well as larger tasks that move Blocknet forward. Putting in an average 60 hours a week, I partake in projects that build Blocknet's foundation and assist in other projects in order to help meet objectives. This proposal is for compensation to allow me to continue contributing to Blocknet for the next upcoming Superblock period.
Background
I have a technical background with a degree in mechanical engineering, prior development experience, and have spent a few years a a few early stage startups (pre and post seed round). This experience helps in various aspects of the project including working in a fast-paced environment, wearing multiple 'hats', pivoting priorities and tasks, understanding the project technicals and vision, communicating the different components, conveying concepts into diagrams and text, and budgeting and financials.
Attention to detail is another useful trait. When reviewing interface UI and user experience, performing QA, writing specifications and documents, and communicating concepts, this attention to detail is important as it's typically the intricacies that make a difference.
Past Contributions
I began contributing in August 2017 when I saw there were areas the project could use help in. The first thing I worked on was an informational website (blocknetprotocol.com) since informational resources we lacking. This led to submitting my first Superblock proposal that next month for further contribution.
Since then I have been responsible for multiple projects and tasks, as well have assisted in others. Some of these items are as follows:
- API documentation (https://api.blocknet.co/)
- New configurations file format: https://github.com/BlocknetDX/blockchain-configuration-files
- Compose documentation (https://docs.blocknet.co)
- Compose content
- Compose specifications
- Wallet QA (MacOS)
- Block DX QA (MacOS)
- Block DX development
- Website development
- Participate in interviews
- Roadmap discussion
- Manage and organize files and documents
- Review announcements and publications
- Convention prep, attending convention, and followups
- Newsletter content, review, and submission
- Release announcements, posts, and emails
- Respond to questions from the community
- Respond to emails
- Fill out applications and forms
Past Month
Below is a list of items I have been working on the past Superblock period.
- Daily intra-team communication and coordination

Proposal: Operations Director (redactedman)
Proposal: redactedman-864000
Summary:
Name: redactedman
Position: Operations Director
Employment type: Part time, without pay
Cost: 10 Block, plus external expenses
Description:
As the operations director for Blocknet I would like to contribute to the project by giving assistance to the fundamental tasks that need to be completed in order to run a tight operation. These tasks may include but are not limited to, marketing, web development, graphic design, search engine marketing, hiring/management of external help, failure oversight, planning and coordination.
I believe that by opening a position that looks after purely operations, we can better have an understanding on where our areas of failure are and my responsibility would be on how to solve those issues. Leaving the development work, to those that are best suited for that position and freeing them up of valuable time.
Funding:
I’d like to keep the position entirely unpaid. The only pay that is awarded to me would be for external expenses such as hiring of staff, costs related to business transactions. Which would be transferred to the recipients. Those expenses will be asked to be repaid to me on the approval of the subsequent superblock. All transactions will be recorded and displayed upon voting.

Proposal: UAT Team (Team consists of 86b, aderks, and Fattox)
Proposal: UAT-864000
Summary:
Foreword:
Below is a non-exhaustive list of tasks we will aim to spend our time on. Some tasks will take priority over others, based on many variables, but we will aim to cover both ‘roles’ in a efficient and sufficient manner, based on what makes the most sense at the time. Please be aware that due to the necessity of managing our time and prioritising these tasks, based on how critical they are, it may not be possible to address every single point listed below. But rest-assured, our team will aim to work in a way which is the most optimal and beneficial to the project, at any given time.
Role #1 — UAT/QA/Integrations:
- Support services
- Integration strategy
- Product analysis
- Bug reporting, error tracking, and logging
- Collaboration with other projects and teams
- New coin integration, confirming, and corresponding QA
- Genesis testing
- Exploit checks
- Communicating with partners and project delegates
- XRouter testing and QA
- Block DX UI QA
- Wallet release QA
- Auto configuration testing and QA
Role #2 — Marketing/Communications:
- Coin Announcements lifecycle: from initial integration/QA to community/partner outreach and coordination of announcements/support.
- In reference to the above: approaching communites of newly announced coins in an effort to bring about more adoption from freshly launched projects. Hopefully some day making Block DX the ‘go to’ for new projects who are seeking a place as their first exchange listing.
- Helping to support and promote the DX to communities that are integrated in to our protocol, both old and new. Using raffles, airdrops, tips (etc) as a way to enable people to try the DX using these small portions of BLOCK as trade-fees.
- Pushing awareness of Blocknet throughout the communities of our supported projects and partners. Co-marketing efforts may be taken up where possible or beneficial.
- Creating content for Blocknet’s Social Media and driving traffic to our site and community channels.
- Collaborating on the creation and maintenance of documentation: EG Tutorials, resources, informative articles and other content, for both our community and a wider audience.
- Dealing with the necessary communication and discussions with any potential partners and third-parties who would like to work with us. EG: Exchanges, dev teams, projects and any other interested parties.
- Collaborating on other developmental marketing strategies and initiatives, with both the Strategy group and the team as a whole.
- Aiming to increase the amount of pairs available to trade via Block DX, by helping to increase the node support and maker bots available on those newly supported chains.
Cost Assessment: Total: 10,220 BLOCK (plus 10 BLOCK fee)
If this proposal passes but is bumped from the Superblock due to there not being enough room, this will be paid out from the Burn/Community Funds.
How to Vote

For more detailed instructions see: http://blocknetdx.forumotion.com/t6-blocknet-proposal-introduction-guide
- An introduction to Superblocks and a guide to submitting and voting for proposals, can be found here.
- A proposal category was created in the Blocknet Discord for focused and specific discussion of proposals and ideas. Within this category, there is a channel called #anon-snode-feedback for Service Node owners to provide anonymous feedback on proposals.
- Votes in favor must be greater than votes against by at least 10% of the total number of Service Nodes.
- The proposals that pass are sorted in a descending order list by the sum of yes votes minus no votes. If multiple proposals have an equal sum of yes votes minus no votes, those are sorted randomly. If there are not enough funds remaining in the Superblock for a proposal to be paid out, it is skipped (not paid out), and the next proposal in the list is checked.
- Multi-month proposals are voted on each month and are treated in the same manner as normal proposals in the ordered list.
- There is also something called a ‘final budget,’ which needs to be submitted between 2880 blocks and 28 blocks before the Superblock. By default, Service Nodes automatically vote yes on final budgets. Moving forward, proposal voting will end 2880 blocks before the Superblock since the final budget locks in the proposal vote counts.
- An introduction to Superblocks and a guide to voting can be found here.
- In addition, we have created a separate proposal notification email alert reminder that snode owners can sign up for here so they do not forget to vote. (This email is separate to the Word on the BLOCK newsletter email).
PLEASE VOTE ASAP. MANY THANKS!
